Last flight of Czech military cargo An-24 (October 2005)
Some snapshots from Prague airport traffic (September 2004)

At the beginning of 2000 I finally fullfilled my dreams of flying. I became a member of the Aeroclub Karlovy Vary. First, there was a lot of theory to study: Aerodynamics, Meteorology, Navigation, Construction, Gauges and Rules. Then I had to pass the tests. The theoretical education and the tests take place each year again. I was also obliged to aquire "The limited licence of the flight radio-operator", because at the international airport, you can hardly make any step without having it approved by tower.
Since the first time in the cockpit of the L-13 Blanik glider I have known that this is a fantastic feeling hardly to be described. You must make your own experience to feel the freedom of the silent movement in thermal air-streams! It is wonderful and habitudinal - you want to soar again and again. The biggest problem is not the money, because there is not enough spare time. First I was limited by employment, now it is the university which occupies me. So I take advantage of the summer camps, where we can fly two weeks (if the weather allows it).
I am still a student-pilot and it may take some years to accomplish all the levels of the programme, which is needed for the final tests. But it doesn't worry me, because the way can be the goal too!
